Historical Background

The Meaning of "Hokoku-127"
The designation "Hokoku-127" marked on the side of the fuselage is a significant historical detail. The word Hōkoku (報国) translates to "Patriotism" or "Service to the Country." In pre-WWII Japan, this label meant the aircraft was built and donated owing to voluntary financial contributions from civilian groups, corporations, or public funds.

About the Aichi D1A2 Aircraft
• Design Origin: The D1A series was heavily based on the German Heinkel He 50 biplane.
• D1A2 Upgrades: Compared to the earlier D1A1 variant, the D1A2 introduced a more powerful Nakajima Hikari 1 radial engine, an improved NACA cowling, wheel spats (aerodynamic covers over the wheels), and enhanced windscreens.
• Role: It served as a primary carrier-based dive bomber during the late 1930s. By the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, the rugged biplanes had been phased out of frontline carrier duty and primarily served as military trainers.

Additional Information

Color scheme: Chinese coast, Autumn 1937. Code 'Hokoku-127' marked on its side means the airplane has been built owing to voluntary contribution.

The model was created based on blueprints, photos and historical documentation. It was created with precision in detail and in real units of measurement to be a faithful digital reproduction of the original.
Cockpit NOT INCLUDED.

LIGHTWAVE and BLENDER - The scene contains the model with uv materials assigned and in the rigged version a basic setup to control each movable part, such as ailerons, rudder, elevators, propeller and wheels.
OBJ and FBX - If you need to animate the airplane you have to make your own setup according to the 3d software you are using. You may need to reassign uv textures when open the files with different software. The aircraft is subdivided into parts each one with its uv map. To reassign textures you only have to load texture maps and assign each of them to the respective channel.
